The BREAKERMATIC Impresión is an electronic voltage protector specifically designed to prevent damage to your photocopiers, printers, plotters, or other electronic office equipment caused by a blackout or a temporary voltage variation, whether too high or too low. It also prevents damage caused by transient voltage spikes.

The BREAKERMATIC Impresión will disconnect the output in the event of a temporary voltage failure, a blackout, or a flickering, and will keep it disconnected for up to 5 seconds after the fault disappears. Additionally, the BREAKERMATIC Impresión absorbs transient spikes produced by the operation of nearby loads or atmospheric activity, preventing them from reaching your equipment without having to unplug it.

It features a Type B or NEMA 5-15R outlet for connecting the device you want to protect, and a Type B (Nema 5-15P) plug or prong for direct connection to a wall outlet. The plug and receptacle assembly can be rotated to conveniently position the protector.

Operation 

Protection against steady-state voltage variations.

The BREAKERMATIC Impresión disconnects the output if the steady-state voltage is above the high cut-off voltage or below the low cut-off voltage indicated in the specifications. In the case of adjustable equipment, the cut-off voltages can be set within the ranges indicated in the specifications. The response time to a fault is typically 1 s. The voltage must remain outside the range longer than the response time for the disconnection to be activated. While the fault persists, the corresponding high or low voltage indicator will remain lit.

Reconnection delay or wait cycle.

When the protector is energized, or at the end of a voltage fault, the protector will initiate a time delay before connecting the output. The duration of the time delay is indicated in the specifications. The wait cycle will allow the power grid to stabilize before restoring operation of the equipment, avoiding transients and other disturbances present when reconnecting the electrical service.

Blackout and Brownout detection

The protector will instantly disconnect the load if it detects a sudden voltage drop below 50% of the nominal voltage and will initiate a standby cycle.

Suppression of transient over voltages.

Transient over voltages are very short-duration, high-energy voltage spikes produced by the connection or disconnection of loads or induced by atmospheric discharges near the electrical grid, which propagate through it until they reach the equipment. The BREAKERMATIC Impresión cuts transient over voltages between phase and neutral (differential mode) and between each current-carrying line and ground (common mode) without disconnecting the output.
