Frequently Asked Questions

How are failures produced?

The previosly listed voltage variations affect refrigeration systems in 3 ways: Short-time blackouts make tha compressor run before the system’s pressures are equal. This increases the magnitude and duration of the starting voltage pick known as inrush. This produces a brief but very intense heating which progressively damages the compressor’s widing. The high operating tensions produce up to 80% more heat in a continuous and permanent way causing damages not only to the winding but also to the mechanical parts and lubricants. Finally, the operation tensions produce a similar effect when they are too low, and they can also make the motor try to start several times until the excesive heating activates the equipment’s thermal protection. For these reasons, we can assure our customers that the use of an electric protector can reduce up to 75% the indez of failures in compressors and electrical systems making equipment’s life longer.

How do we do our products in BREAKERMATIC?

We use quality-proved raw material provided by world-famous suppliers such as National Semiconductor, SGS Thomson, Motorola, Original Relay from Japan, and Song-Chuan from Taiwan. We also adquire our resources importing directly from the country of origin. That’s why BREAKERMATIC has its customers’ trust.

How to minimize damages?

The electric protectors constantly monitore the line’s voltage level. According to the reading it does, it activates or disactivates the equipment’s feed protecting it from the listed drops. When voltage failures or blackouts occur, the protector delays the refrigerator’s start allowing the refrigerating gas’ pressures to stabilize, so that the compressor starts with a minimum effort. This way, it is assured that the compressor starts and works with the right voltage and current according to its specifications.

What are the advantage of using a voltage protector?

Our Electric Protectors reduce the problems that are caused by irregular voltage feed increasing the equipment’s productivity, decreasing costs, and extending their lifetime.

What are the differences between a protector and a Pick’s suppressor?

A voltage protector is different from a pick’s suppresor. The last one only eliminates spikes, transitory changes of a very short duration that frecuently appear in the electric distribution lines and don’t offer protection against stationary variations of the line tension or momentary fluctuacions.

What are the differences between a protector and a stabilizar?

It’s important to know that a voltage protector is not a regulator. Voltage protectors only check if the electrical line send the right tensions, but they haven’t been designed to correct irregularities in the electricity source. That’s why protectors are much more affordable than regulators and stabilizers. A regulator or stabilizer works increasing or reducing the tensions automatically guaranteeing that the output keeps within the load’s operation range. However, the use of a regulator is only recommended when the tension level are over the maximum accepted range, that is, when their duration is over 20% of the working time.

What is an Electronic Voltage Protector?

It’s an affordable device that protects artifacts from variations and interruptions of voltage feed.

What is our manufacture system?

We have the Just in Time (JIT) system. This continuous-flow system allows us, in the first place, to change the model of the products to manufacture in a matter of minutes to adequate the demand’s variations. In the second place, since there’s no products’ storage, we detect eventual failures and fix them at once. In the third place, we have a quality control of all of our products in two consecutives stages: on the electronic circuitry before being packed and the final product once concluded.

Why should one use an Electronic Protector?

Because the electricity service is irregular in many countries. This means, the voltage feed can be above or below the nominal voltage equipments need, and this affects their performance and durability. The greatest danger of these variations is the fact that they’re not perceptible, and users may think their artifacts are working properly and are being fed with just the right voltage, when they are in risk. Another inconvenient which frequently occurs is the blackout which consists of a sudden power cut that considerably affects equipments.
